My best friend gave me these:

Kinja'd!!!

Three old handheld CBs! They work too, my brother and I just tested them and they work about a mile away from eachother. Now I’m going to install my old CB in the Ranger so I can use it as a base station when me and my friends do spy missions.

I hate the way my old mag mount antenna destroys paint. I’m thinking just keep it in the bed until I can get another mount.

Kinja'd!!!

I know it won’t work great but I really don’t want to mess up my paint.

Also I traded my brother some old walkie talkies for these fog lamps. I already have front fogs so I was thinking I could use these as a cargo light/ a rear fog light. The mountain road I take to get into town is usually covered in fog. You can’t see taillights until they’re 10 feet away. Euro style rear fog light for visibility:

You do know Euro rear foglights are red right?

Are they? They were grey on my old Saab.

I guess they were red on my Saab. Not a problem though, I can get a red bulb.

A 90° bracket mounted to the bed rail or your toolbox would be a good place for your antenna.

As for the fog lights, you will have to make them red if you want to turn them on while on the road. White lights pointed backwards are frowned upon by the authorities.

nice, I would love some portable CB, since all the trucks in the convoy have CB installed, it would be nice to have one or two for spotting.

Make a bed mount for your antenna, wouldn’t take much more than a bit of 90 deg bracket.

Ditch those lights as rear fogs, hook them to your backup lights or tuck them up and under as rock lights.

I already have an nmo on the hood for my 2m ham radio. Tool box isn’t metal so that’s not ideal.

I could easily dye it red. Im actually trying to buy a magnetic amber flasher to blend in with my schools service trucks.

Can you add another bracket next to that one and just have 2 antennas there?

There’d be some interference. Could get a filter though.

I was about to post some helpful hints on antenna installation, but then I saw your ham radio license plate, and then your 2m antenna. You’ve got this. 73 de KJ1H :)

I’ll probably just have a bracket on the rear passenger side corner, keep it nice and away from the cab and other obstructions.

I’m having a problem finding space in the cab for another radio though. Maybe behind the seat, mounted to the jack cover. Makes it harder to wire to the battery though. Someday I’ll have a nice dual or quad band so I can just have one mobile and keep it clean. Going to try for my general this summer! 73s, N1JTL

Get a red bulb so you don’t scare the shit out of everybody.

Space - the final frontier! A friend runs a pair of 222MHz repeaters and harasses me to get back on, but I can’t fit my big old Kenwood TM-621A in my BRZ. And all the Chinese 144/222 dual banders seem to be vaporware...

I hear some are better than others. Just something to be careful with. I’m considering a woxun DMR HT as my next radio purchase. Lots of the guys at my local club love them.
